Alaska Alaska! are a shouty pop-punk/punk band from the depths of Southwest/Wales, their brand new E.P ‘Never Thought We’d Get This Far’ is out now on Bandcamp. Here is an interview they did for us at the end of last year.

Tell us about how the history of the band? Well the bands been kicking around a while now but we’ve had line up changes after line up changes and finally we have a band where we all want the same things and are all committed to do this so the bands old but we are all fresh as a daisy.

What are you influences/ musical heroes? As individuals in the band we have such a vast taste in music but as a band i would say our big influences are The Menzingers, Bangers (RIP), Gnarwolves, Latterman, Brand new and of course CHUCK RAGAN!

What inspires you? Anything and everything i mean just day to day shit and seeing friends achieve there dreams is what inspires me.

Do you write on the road? or do you prefer to write in the studio? So far we’ve had a back catalogue of stuff from before which made it on to our most recent EP but we usually come to practice with a riff or an idea and run it from there

What is your favourite song to perform live? For me personally i’d have to say either I live my life one movie quote at a time or A soap opera about how much our lives suck both are very personal to me lyrically and they both are such fun songs!

What would be your dream tour to be a part of? Brand New, The Menzingers & Latterman and us!

What are you current thoughts on the music industry? I think there are positives and negatives about it at the moment i mean on one side you got bands like Boston Manor nailing it and we played with them back when they first started off and Apologies i have none really owned it with the new album but then on the other you got bands who are calling it quits like Bangers and Above them and its sad because they are such amazing bands and really influenced me and then you have the chart music which is just shocking!

What is the funniest/weirdest experience you have had on tour? Erm too much over the years, but one of the members from river jumpers had a tequila worm with me and it hit the back of his throat and he spat the tequila and the worm on to the singers face and the worm just bounced down his face thats one!

What are your future plans? Play music and play as many shows as we can till die.
